Nestled in the middle of a tropical forest, Alam Ubud Culture Villas & Residence offers plenty tranquil activities to try. If you like to do more, here are some recommended things to do nearby:

Within the vast area of Alam Ubud, there is one water temple by the river. It is Beji Temple. This Pura Tirta matters not only for Balinese Hinduism, but also for the Subak irrigation system. If you want to see another yet more prominent water temple, you can go to Tirta Empul, about 7.7 km away to the northeast. The main attraction of this water temple is that visitors can dip themselves in the pool filled with holy spring water and get purified spiritually.

Ubud and its surrounding areas are the best place to observe the culture and tradition of Bali. You might as well find ‘love’ in this small town, just like Liz Gilbert (Julia Roberts) in the movie Eat, Pray, Love. It is also home to one of UNESCO’s World Heritage Site, the subak rice terrace. Tegallalang Rice Terrace is just around 5.2 km from Alam Ubud Villa. You can drive there for about 13 minutes. There, pamper your eyes and calm yourself by admiring the wonderful rice terrace and the greenery.

Another important temple located nearby is Pura Gunung Kawi or Gunung Kawi Temple. This complex consists of 10 finely-carved rock-cut shrines dedicated to King Anak Wungsu of the Udayana dynasty and his favorite queens. More temples there are thought to be for more royals during the reign of King Udayana.

A visit to the center of Ubud is also worth doing while you are staying in Alam Ubud. The most iconic tourist attraction in Ubud, the Sacred Monkey Forest, can be reached within 25 minutes by car. People usually join a day tour in Ubud visiting this unique forest along with a visit to Ubud Palace and a stop-by to Ubud Market.

If you are into Balinese art, you may want to visit an art museum. Neka Art Museum is situated at Jalan Raya Sanggingan Campuhan, about 13 km away from this complex. Here, you can admire a precious collection of fine art. All the exhibited artworks here are inspired by the beauty of Bali’s nature, people, and culture.
