Oceanic view in Olele Marine Park to Saronde Island
The tour begins after the driver picks you up from Jalaluddin Airport, then you will be invited to take photos at Pakaya Tower Limboto (The Great Tower) and Baiturrahman Mosque Gorontalo. Head to the traditional house of Bantayo Poboid. Continue to the city of Gorontalo, there are many interesting spots to see and visit. Go to the Otanaha Fortress, it is the perfect location to relish the views of Lake Limboto from above the fortress. Shortstop at Sacred Tomb of Ju Panggola, then visit Iluta Village which is the entrance of Lake Limboto. This place once used as the landing site for Amphibi Katelina, which was used by Indonesian President Soekarno. Move to The 2000 Stairs Beach, the number 2000 refers to the year of the park was inaugurated, and not the number of the steps. So, no need to worry about a lot of stairs! It’s not what the name implies. This is a nice place to unwind and enjoy the sunset views.
In the next days, you will spend more time visiting the nearest beautiful islands. Bogisa Island is the inhabitants’ place. It looks super charming with clear turquoise water. So, when swimming you will see the corals clearly. The island also has a beautiful elongated white sand beach that divides the ocean when viewed from a height. Move to Mohinggito Island, this is a 30-hectares marine conservation area with exotic white sand. The next stop on this Island Hopping tour is Saronde Island. Next, you can experience the local food, Milu Pulo (Gorontalo steam corn served with vegetables and coconut meat).
Whale Shark Sightseeing Spot
The day after, if it’s in season whales you will be invited to visit the Whale Shark Point at the Botubarani coastline. Whale sharks are the world’s largest fish species, if you are lucky, you can feed whale sharks from the boat or snorkel with whale sharks. Next, move Olele Beach to unveil the hidden beauty of Olele Marine Park. From the glass-bottom boat, you can see unspoiled reefs decorated by rainbow fish and other marine biotas. One of the rare coral reefs that can be encounter are reefs that resemble Picasso artworks. So people call it “the coral reef Picasso”.
Then, you will be snorkeling to discover Olele Marine Park with a combination of biodiversity, corals, reefs, and crystal clear water. The area has also become a hidden paradise for diving and snorkeling. If you want to dive at Olele Beach you can rent diving equipment (optional). After lunch, continue to visit the Bubohu Traditional Village and Walima Mas Mosque. In the late afternoon, we will take participants to try Gorontalo local dishes such as binthe biluhuta soup, Ilabulo, fried bananas with chili sauce, and so on (the cost of meals considered as a personal expense).
